The Transform held item glitch is a glitch only in the Japanese versions of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

Summary

When a Trick/Thief/Covet/Switcheroo is used on a Transformed Pokémon holding an item, both Pokémon will have the item at the end of the battle (subject to the item being stolen).

This glitch can be abused in a Double Battle as a means of cloning items.
