Silph Co. 11F after manipulating a tileblock to go to the tenth warp of wLastMap

This glitch is a more advanced alternative to Safari Zone exit glitch to warp to different Glitch Cities and exits (warp ten rather than warp four).

At Silph Co. 11F there is a warp assigned at y=06 x=05 apparently for an unused warp tile which takes the player to the tenth warp of the previous map in wLastMap (usually Saffron City in this case).

Saffron City doesn't have ten warps, so this will load a Glitch City if a warp tile is forced there. It is actually a development leftover from when Saffron City did have ten warps (originally it was a second entrance to Silph Co.).

Another detail is that seemingly no valid tile block exists in the final games for a warp tile on the bottom-right corner (tile block 0x38 has the warp tile on the top-right corner), which would be required in this case. However, glitch tile block 0x3D has one (in both Red and Yellow) and can be used to enter the warp.

In Pokémon Red and Blue

There are multiple ways to do this. Here is one clean way with text move abuse and expanded item pack to place tile block 0x3D into memory address $C738 (the location of the tile block which aligns with y=06 x=05 for valid map views).

Manipulating the map:

  • Modify wLastMap ($D365) (i36 quantity controls the index number of the desired map)

Setting up the text move abuse:

  • Modify wMapTextPtr ($D36C and $D36D) to 1E D3 (swap i1; Repel x 211 to i40 (replaces x98))
  • At $D320-$D321 have 22 D3 (i2 ; Water Stone x 211)
  • At $D322-$D327 have 03 38 E7 00 3D 57 (i3 ; Great Ball x 56 , i4 ; TM31 x 0 , i5 ; Soda Pop x 87)

To enable the text move abuse, talk to the lady to the right of the Silph Co. president to bring up a blank text box. Then walk around to the top-left corner of the table to find a new glitched tileblock with warp-tiles and enter it.

In Pokémon Yellow

The same procedure above can be used if Repel x 211 is replaced with Escape Rope x211, and Water Stone x 211 is replaced with Thunder Stone x 211. The item that appears at item 40 before it is replaced is x100. In Pokémon Yellow, the memory addresses are -1 of Pokémon Red/Blue.
