This article details various glitch meta-map scripts in the Celadon Game Corner (0x87) in Pokémon Yellow.

The script is controlled by memory address D65E.

Highlights

  • 0x06: Flashes the screen. May continue indefinitely.
  • 0x0A: May show a glitched animation similar to the boulder push animation, then cause arbitrary code execution at region EAAF in Echo RAM. If a ret is forced here, game may freeze due to an invalid opcode (0xFD) at 12:4CBE. If the game gets this far and the invalid opcode is ignored (which may be possible on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console version), the Game Corner music will play and it appears the player can press B or A to advance a glitch text box. However, the game may still freeze afterwards.
  • 0x12: May cause arbitrary code execution of FA4C in Echo RAM (a copy of DA4C)
