The 0x09 Glitch City

This article details various glitch meta-map scripts on Silph Co's 11F in Pokémon Red and Blue.

The script is controlled by memory address D659.

  • 0x01: Trainer escape glitch compatible script
  • 0x02: Unknown effect/game may not freeze
  • 0x03: Face left/Giovanni fight
  • 0x04, 0x05: "Blast it all! You ruined our plans for SILPH! But, TEAM ROCKET will never fall! (PLAYER)! Never forget that all POKéMON exist for TEAM ROCKET! I must go, but I shall return!" (Trainer escape glitch compatible?)
  • 0x06: Invalid opcode at 18:61CF (freeze, also freeze on 3DS Virtual Console?)
  • 0x07: Arbitrary code execution at CBD8 in WRAM
  • 0x08: Arbitrary code execution at C07F in WRAM
  • 0x09: May make the player appear at the bottom of the screen at a (very partial) Glitch City, followed by a game freeze.
  • 0x0A: Arbitrary code execution at CD62 in WRAM
  • 0x0B: Unknown effect/game may not freeze
  • 0x0C: Game may freeze
  • 0x0D: Arbitrary code execution at FA32 in Echo RAM (a copy of DA32)
  • 0x0E: Arbitrary code execution at CD3D in WRAM
  • 0x0F: Invalid opcode freeze at 0DEE (D3), or lock-up without music (3DS VC)
  • 0x10: Arbitrary code execution at AFCF in SRAM
  • 0x11: Arbitrary code execution at B4E0 in SRAM
  • 0x12: Arbitrary code execution at F03E in WRAM (a copy of D03E)
  • 0x13: Likely freeze
  • 0x14: Invalid opcode freeze at 1A:5177 (FC) or freeze (3DS Virtual Console)
  • 0x15: Arbitrary code execution at E003 in Echo RAM (C003)
