The trade evolution Time Capsule glitch is a natural glitch between Pokémon Red, Blue, or Yellow and Pokémon Gold, Silver or Crystal.

If a Pokémon is traded from Generation I to Generation II, evolves and then learns a move that does not exist in Generation I, the Pokémon will still be able to be traded back to Generation I, where the move will become a glitch move.

Examples

  • Level 16 Golem learns Magnitude after evolving from Graveler. If traded back to Generation I it will become TM22.
  • Level 34 Golem learns Rollout after evolving from Graveler. If traded back to Generation I it will become TM05.
  • Level 31 Alakazam learns Future Sight after evolving from Kadabra. If traded back to Generation I it will become TM47.
  • Level 13 Gengar learns Mean Look after evolving from Haunter. If traded back to Generation I it will become TM12.
  • Level 34 Machamp learns Vital Throw after evolving from Machoke. If traded back to Generation I it will become TM33.
  • Level 48 Machamp learns Cross Chop after evolving from Machoke. If traded back to Generation I it will become TM38.
  • Level 48 Gengar learns Destiny Bond after evolving from Haunter. If traded back to Generation I it will become Super Glitch C2.
