FYI, 3TRAINERPOKE is hex 0 (Unsigned comment)

@ the person above, for convenience please sign comments. 3trainerpoke has already been indexed on the glitchdex as hex 000. The family number 176 refers to the dex number the game interprets the glitch. For example, even though Rhydon is hex 001 its family number (dex number) is 112. Please be a bit more careful. --Torchickens 20:57, 16 January 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Shall we add some kind of incomplete tag?

Now that the wiki is open to the public shall we inform other users that the GlitchDex is still incomplete? (As it does not include the different variations of Missingno.) --Torchickens 18:49, 28 March 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Glitch Pokemon missing information

So... shouldn't these Pokemon have a section detailing their unusual (side) effects? For example shouldn't "4 4 Hy" have a section like "side effects: causes the menus and options to require multiple button presses before proceeding. Applies in battle, as well as in the PC and the Menu as long as this pokemon is present in those spaces. Side effects vanish once 4 4 Hy is no longer present."

Obviously that particular Missingno is pretty harmless but some can freeze the game, corrupt data, etc. so it kind of seems like that information should be available? Also many glitch pokemon have useful side effects (for example Q [FF] can trigger the Pokemon merge glitch which can allow you to teach any move to any pokemon and alter the IVs of any pokemon that hasn't evolved yet).

And it would make the browsing of the dex more interesting. Unless there's a superior Glitchdex somewhere that details that information?

Day Care only moves

We may be missing various glitch Pokémon level up moves, due to the bug that affects Vaporeon in Yellow. Vaporeon is defined to learn both Haze and Mist at Level 42, but Haze is defined after Mist, so it takes priority as the only move it will learn (for level up via Rare Candy, battle, or evolution stone). Bringing Vaporeon into the Day Care and advancing it to Level 42 allows it to learn both Haze and Mist. By the same logic, certain glitch Pokémon may have multiple moves to learn defined at the same level. Evie (Torchickens) (talk) 19:24, 13 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

(Of course, instead of manually trying each level at the Day Care, it's better to acquire the data from the ROM first to save time). Evie (Torchickens) (talk) 19:26, 13 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I believe the dumping tool I've been using to naively check the wiki information does not reproduce that error, but I haven't checked the movesets on the wiki too thoroughly. I only went through English R/B's base stats and checked those, but you can check too using FutureFractal's tools: https://github.com/FutureFractal/g1utils CytricAcid (talk) 21:02, 17 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks for the insight ^^ Evie (Torchickens) (talk) 03:29, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
